Programme and Project Management

iCore defines programme management as the co-ordination of strategic change and the realisation of benefits across all components of the business enterprise, i.e. Customers, Technology, Organisation, Processes, People, Products & Services, Facilities, Measures.

It is our experience that when projects fail to deliver, or deliver late and over budget, it's simply because projects focus upon only one of these components (usually technology) with little or no regard to the impact on the other areas of the business.

Programmes are influenced and constrained by a vast array of external factors and, by their nature, carry far higher strategic and financial risk. As a result communication and interfacing needs will be substantial and complex requiring detailed management.

iCore's approach is aligned to PRINCE 2 / MSP and provides a clear, structured framework within which we can define organisational change requirements, articulate a benefits model, prioritise resulting projects and conduct change impact analysis. This approach is equally applicable to major IT consolidation and transformation programmes as it is to new business systems programmes. The approach encompasses Planning, Monitoring and Control functions using iCore's project office framework, effective risk assessment and management, establishment of effective teams, regular monitoring of business benefits and effective stakeholder management and communication. Quality assurance and control is present throughout.

iCore can also provides a PRINCE 2 Maturity Assessment service, whereby a client's overall project methodology, or a particular project, or portfolio of projects, can be assessed for rescue or improvements/remediation.
